ARHS Band & Orchestra Home Page


Welcome to the home page for the Algonquin Regional High School Band and Orchestra program. The Instrumental Music program at Algonquin features the Concert Band (grade 9), Symphonic Band (grades 10/11/12), Wind Ensemble (grades 11/12), and String Orchestra (grades 9-12). All of these Ensembles meet during the school day for full academic credit. There are approximately 250 students involved in the instrumental music program at Algonquin.

There are also two Jazz Ensembles and a Full Orchestra which meet regularly after school. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to participate in small instrumental ensembles.

Our Fall Instrumental Concert is on Thursday, November 6th at 7:30pm. Concert call for Wind Ensemble and String Orchestra is 6:45pm- on stage ready to play through pieces with Ms. Packer!

Concert call for Symphonic Band is 7pm in the band room

Concert Call for Concert Band is 6:45pm in the band room

Please be mindful of your concert attire!

 

 


FULL ORCHESTRA has started! We rehearse on Tuesdays from 2-2:45pm. Our first concert is on December 18th and we are performing selections from The Nutcracker and White Christmas. If you are interested in playing with the Full Orchestra- please contact Mrs. Collins.

 


Central District Auditions are Saturday, November 15th. All ARHS students auditioning for districts will travel as a group to the auditions in Grafton, MA. The bus will depart promptly at 8am, and should return around 11am. Dress in nice but comfortable clothing, and make sure to get some rest the evening before!

All students must return their permission slip for Central District Auditions by Friday, November 7th:

The cheesecakes and blankets will arrive the either on Tuesday, November 18th or Wednesday, November 19th. The date will be finalized shortly. Remember- you must pick up your frozen cheesecake right after-school in the cafe.
